But it was adults at Forrester Research so we can believe them. They recently surveyed 4,517 teenagers about social media use and, much to the surprise of pearl-clutchers everywhere, Facebook was ahead by a lot.
Nearly half of the respondents – ages 12 to 17 – said they were using Facebook more than they were a year ago. The firm believes this may be due in part to increasing mobile usage, as Facebook’s app is one of the most widely used in the world, and will only continue.
This is great for advertisers, as it makes it easier to reach that rising demo. Jury’s out on what this means for humanity.
